Dockers and seafarers working together for ‘fair ferries’

Fair Ferries Dockers and seafarers from unions across Europe joined up for a week of action in September 2010 as they were concerned about unequal working and pay and seafarers being used to do dockers work. Union members spoke to passengers on ferries and crews and vessel owners of cargo ferries telling them about the need for a minimum set wage for seafarers as well as proper health and safety protection and respect for dockers work. Union members from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, UK and Ireland were part of the action. Find out more about the fair ferries campaign here.
