The International Transport Workers’ Federation or ITF, is a global union body representing millions of transport workers worldwide. Maritime workers, their unions and the industry know the ITF for its groundbreaking work to eliminate the exploitation of seafarers and for its flags of convenience (FOC) campaign. The mirror campaign, ports of convenience (POC), aims to protect rights and working conditions for dockers in ports.
The only way to combat the negative impact of global capital on the living and working conditions of dockers and seafarers on the ground is by uniting globally. Workers are doing this via their unions, linking across borders to unite the supply chain, provide solidarity and close collaboration.
This website is designed as a space to bring together dockers and seafarers so that they can share, comment, network and build union power.
